The University of Zambia Journal of Agricultural and Biomedical Sciences (JABS) is proud to announce the release of two official manuscript submission templates—one for Microsoft Word and another for LaTeX. This milestone marks a major step toward improving formatting consistency, enhancing author experience, and streamlining the peer review process.

The new templates are designed to help authors align their manuscripts with JABS editorial standards right from the drafting stage. They include predefined styles, section headings, citation formats, and tables and figures placement, in full compliance with the journal’s guidelines.

“These templates are part of our broader strategy to increase publishing efficiency and ensure that manuscripts meet our standards without unnecessary formatting delays,”

“By offering both Word and LaTeX formats, we’re supporting a wider range of researchers—especially those in biomedical sciences who prefer LaTeX for complex mathematical and statistical content.”- JABS

Key Features:

  • Microsoft Word Template: Easy to use, especially for authors with minimal technical background. It features built-in styles for headings, references, and figure/table captions, and is fully compatible with recent Word versions.

  • LaTeX Template: Ideal for researchers working with equations, structured data, or automated workflows. The LaTeX template includes a custom class file, a title page setup, and BibTeX compatibility, ensuring seamless citation formatting.

Both templates are available for download directly from the Journal of Agricultural and Biomedical Sciences (JABS) platform. Authors are encouraged to use them from the outset of manuscript preparation to avoid revision delays related to formatting.
